From December 1, 2017, HiProMine S.A. implements the project: Insects as novel protein sources for fish and poultry. The project is co-financed by the European Funds for the Foundation for Polish Science, under Measure 4.4 “Increasing the human resources in R&D sector”, TEAM-TECH Program.
Purpose of the project:
The main goal of the project is to analyse the effect of bioactive insect proteins on the growth of chickens for fattening and salmon fish, to analyse the digestibility of nutrients, the amino acid composition of proteins, energy potential and changes in the composition and activity of the microbiome of the animal digestive system. In addition, the project aims to determine the effect of supplementation with insect protein in the diet of chickens for fattening and salmon fish on the presence of potentially pathogenic bacteria in their digestive system using modern molecular biology techniques.
Planned results:
The result of the project will be to improve knowledge on the potential use of insect protein in poultry nutrition and in aquaculture. The research results will be used in legislative procedures and in the marketing of feed products.
Project value: PLN 3,418,500.00
