Since 1 May 2021, HiProMine S.A. has been implementing the project: InSmartFarm – development and verification of optimal parameters and automation of key activities of the industrial fattening process of Hermetia illucens larvae.
The project is co-funded from European Funds by the National Centre for Research and Development within the framework of Measure 1.1 “R&D projects of enterprises”, Sub-measure 1.1.1 “Industrial research and development work implemented by enterprises” of the Smart Growth Operational Programme.
The aim of the project
The activities planned within the project are aimed at achieving the following main goals:
– to acquire and verify in practice the knowledge about the optimal values of the key parameters of the industrial fattening process of Hermetia illucens larvae, such as stocking density, temperature, humidity,
– acquiring the ability to automatically measure, classify and confection the larvae at the stage of direct preparation for fattening (after the incubation period), in order to be able to match the above factors to a given batch of larvae.
Positive results in the above mentioned areas and implementing them into the current activity (process innovation) will translate into increased survival rate of larvae in the fattening process, their faster growth and optimal feed conversion. Consequently, this will translate into achieving the main business goal of the Applicant, i.e. increase of the efficiency of the fattening process and its costs reduction.
Value of the project: PLN 6 673 808,75
Contribution from European Funds: PLN 4 633 062,25
